In august 2021 Vidor joined more than 20 other Texas cities that recieved the official Music Friendly Community designation. These cities included Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Denton, Lindale, Stephenville, Conroe, San Angelo, Nacogdoches, Abeline, McKinney, Waxahatchie, Waco, Alpine Bastrop, New Braunfels, Victoria, Lubbock, Denison, Arlington, Brenham, Dripping Springs, Round Rock, El Paso, and Odessa. Since this time there are now over 60 certified cities with this designation.
